Temple in Srirangapatna by Kumar Gowrav, Landscapes are visual documents especially when one encompasses recognisable landscapes. I was in The National Museum of Modern Art sometime back and saw images of the " Dasa Sameshwar Ghat" (where they burn the dead !). it was painted nearly a century ago but still looks very much the same , the thought which stuck me though was will our landscapes in mysore still be the same in the days to come ?. I want to start a project whereby we start painting some of these images which romanticises the past to an extent and turns it also a blueprint for the future !
